Gang violence has erupted in Bekkersdal once again and has the community living in fear after two people were killed in the past five days.
One of them, Tony Phato who was a local DJ, popularly known as DJ T-lesh, was hacked to death in what is believed to have been a revenge attack by gangsters on Saturday.
This comes after community members confronted and assaulted gang members who were terrorizing the community through house breakings and robberies.
The gangs in question are said to be the Creatures, the Calabash and Top with the Creatures having being singled out as the most dangerous.
According to reports, Phato was found dead near Donaldson Dam, lying face down with stab wounds in his back.
