The body of a 30-year-old woman was discovered by her brother in Mohlakeng on Wednesday (21 May).
The woman’s body was badly decomposed and lying on the bed when the man discovered her in her home where she lived alone.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Appel Ernst police arrived at the scene when they were informed by the man that he had discovered his sister’s body.
“Officers at the scene investigated this and it was discovered that the body in question was badly decomposed,” says Ernst.
She adds that it currently remains unknown as when or how the woman died but a an inquest has been opened to discover the cause of death.
According to Ernst, no foul play is suspected.
