Another foetus was found dumped in Mohlakeng on the corner of Selope Thema and Nhlapho Street on Wednesday.
According to Randfontein police spokesperson Appel Ernst, police were called to the scene following a tip-off about an unnatural death in the area.
“Our officers were called to the scene and upon their arrival, they found a suspicious plastic bag.
“They inspected it and made the shocking discovery,” says Ernst.
She adds that police officers conducted an investigation in the vicinity to try and locate the mother of the unborn child, but they were unsuccessful.
A case of concealment of birth has since been opened.
“I can confirm that we are investigating the case but we have no leads at this point.
“However, people must know that concealment of birth is a crime and should the biological mother be found, she will face prosecution,” says Ernst.
