The Tiger takes the All African Continental Title

Local fighting legend, Nathi 'The Tiger' Ximba, took yet another international win and ensured himself of the WKF All African Continental Title.

Local fighting legend, Nathi ‘The Tiger’ Ximba, took yet another international win during his visit to Kenya and ensured himself of the World Kickboxing Federation All African Continental Title.

According to Ximba’s manager and trainer, Mark Hey from Hey Sports International, the event took place on 29 March and was hosted at the Safaricon Indoor Arena in Kenya.

“In the weeks leading up to this fight, Ximba and I spent a lot of time preparing him in the kickboxing discipline as Nathi’s preferred fighting style is Mauy-Thai,” says Mark.

He adds that Nathi competed in the Featherweight category which is for fighters lighter than 58.2 kilograms.

Nathi explains that he had to face the current Kenyan and East African Kickboxing Champion, known as Fabiano.

“On fight day, I came out guns blazing with one goal in mind: to destroy Fabiano in the opening round,” says Nathi.

However, according to Mark, Fabiano was determined to take the fight the distance.

“Although Nathi amazed his opponent’s corner with his quick hands and tight combinations, Nathi was not able to sent Fabiano to the canvass in the opening round,” says Mark.

“Fabiano also delivered a fowl blow in the end of the opening round, but Nathi stayed calm and continued to dominate the round.”

With the start of round two Fabiano again delivered a fowl blow and again Nathi stayed calm and collected.

In the final seconds of round two, Nathi knocked Fabiano down for a standing count, but the fight continued for another round.

“Again in the opening minute of round three, Fabiano was sent to the canvass, but again stood up and continued fighting,” says Mark.

At the end of round three, Ximba delivered the winning blow. The referee stopped the fight and Nathi won by means of technical knock out.

“Both Nathi and I was very pleased with this great victory and came back to South Africa with yet another title belt to add to the collection,” says Mark.

Nathi is now the title holder of four titles which include the Pro-Am K-1 tilte, the South African K-1 title, the World Mauy-Thai title and now the All African Continental Kickboxing Title.
