Security guard robbed at car dealership

His wedding ring and a car belonging to the dealership were stolen during the incident.

A security guard was attacked by two suspects and robbed of his wedding ring and a vehicle in Aureus on 22 February.

The incident occurred at a local used car dealership in Aureus where the man was working at the time.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, the suspects entered the premises and produced firearms.

“From what we understand, the man was on duty when he was approached by two armed suspects who produced firearms and continued to threaten him.

“They ordered him into the offices of the dealership where they demanded that he hands over his wedding ring and his cellphone.

“Shortly after this, the suspects took off with one of the vehicles belonging to the dealership, a Toyota Hi-ace with registration number VVM 609 GP.

“The suspects are still on the loose,” says Ernst.

She adds that Warrant Officer Thabiso Duiker is investigating the matter and will appreciate any information that might assist him in his investigation.
