Westonaria police launch manhunt for suspects

The suspects are believed to be terrorizing the community of Westonaria in many house robberies.

The Westonaria police are on the hunt for four coloured male suspects who are believed to be terrorizing the community of Westonaria.

This comes after residents across the communities in Westonaria reported house robbery incidents.

According to Westonaria SAPS spokesperson Thembi Masango, in numerous house robbery cases reported, the four suspects fit the same description.

During a recent incident, the suspects are believed to have attacked a woman and her baby at their home on 27 August at approximately 12:30.

The woman and her baby where in the bedroom when the suspects broke into her house and held them at gunpoint.

They threatened to hurt both her and her baby should she scream.

They continued to ransack the house and took two plasma tv’s, a microwave oven, and a firearm among other items.

According to Westernaria SAPS spokesperson, Constable Thembi Masango, neither the woman or the child were injured during the robbery.

“The suspects are known to use a silver Volkswagen Polo during their house robberies.

“We urge anyone who spots a suspicious silver VW Polo doing the rounds in communities to immediately contact the police.

“Our police are more than happy to investigate any suspicions.

“We will not rest until we arrest them and bring them to book,” says Masango.
