Dead baby found at dumping site

At the dumping site, officers were led to where the baby was discovered.

A dead fetus was found at the Randfontein Dumping Site on 24 August at approximately 3.45pm.

The baby still had the placenta intact.

According to Randfontien SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, police officers received a phone call informing them about the dumped baby and immediately rushed to the scene.

“At the dumping site, officers were led to where the baby was discovered.

“At this point I cannot reveal any more information but I can say that an inquest has been opened,” says Ernst.

The fetus was moved to a government mortuary and the police would appreciate any information that might assist with the investigation.
