Racers show their steel at Randfontein Oval

Randfontein Oval Racing ensures yet another action packed race day.

Spectators were in for a treat on 13 July when racers from all over headed to Randfontein Oval Track to make their race in the dirt count.

With the season now halfway the drivers gave their best to secure a solid lead in the overall rankings.

Spectators saw great racing as every driver wanted to get the points needed to finish in the top spot in the Flexis division.

“This event was surely a grueling fight to the finish from each and every driver,” says Mari Coetzee from the Randfontein Oval Raceway.

Every racer gave it their all, but in the end only one could be victorius.

In the quad category Clinton Erasmus walked away with the gold.

Luan Grimbeek came in second with Hansie Riley right behind him in third.

The rookies also gave it their all, with Gavin Pretorius taking the win and Hein Luhmkuhl finishing in second place.

The newcomer, 12-year old Chrisjan Morgenrood ensured his spot on the podium after finishing third.

The 1660cc category saw some spectacular racing, but in the end LeeRoy Hoffman walked away with the win. Johan Botha came in second and Carel Swanepoel third.

The next category to take to the track was the 2100cc.

In this category Ernie Maaske took the win with Hennie Bezuidenhout in second place. Gert Brits came in third.

In the Tin Tops category Steven Smith crossed the finish line in first place, Fanie van Vuuren was second and Ernie Maaske third.

During the Supers category Dupie du Plessis came in first with Percy Muller in second place.

The Flexis category also saw great racers take to the dirt.

Bennie Nieuwoudt ended his race in first place with Steven Smith in second place.

Deon Coetzee ensured a podium position when he ended third.
