Loveliest of runs

PRAEGVILLE – Community members even sat outside their homes on the route, cheering and playing music to help runners on their way.

Love was in the air again as about a thousand runners hit the streets for the Randburg Harriers 10km Valentine’s Race.

For the first time, the annual run was held in the afternoon and included a vibrant picnic vibe, on February 12.

Tutus, wings, wigs, crowns and tiaras, and all things colourful were worn by runners as they celebrated the day of love.

But the run itself was not easy, featuring one of the hilliest routes of Joburg’s 10km races.

Indeed, Maria Street was almost a swear word for those not used to the challenging distance, but it was all good in the end as fitness was promoted.
