Cosmo Mall celebrates Heritage Day
COSMO CITY – Mall celebrates Heritage Day by showcasing talent.
South Africa’s diversity was celebrated when Cosmo Mall marked Heritage Day with a talent show.
“Cosmo Mall wanted to celebrate and give back to our community while celebrating their heritage,” explained marketing manager for the mall, Katlego Lauren.
“Cosmo Mall hosted a talent show open to all community members of Cosmo City and Diepsloot, which invited all ages to perform on our stage in their Heritage Day clothing. Our shoppers were able to perform their traditional dance, sing, and performed proudly. Winners of the talent show were given children’s scooters and toys, grocery hampers… shoe vouchers, water bottles, sanitisers, lunchboxes airtime, and bags.”
Local celebrities Lady gee, Cosmo Movers, Trapgoat, Pantsula Royal, Generotics and Taydo were among those who performed.
There was free entertainment for the youth with rides and free boerewors rolls given by Roots Butchery.
Community member, Ronald Kubisa said, “It was good to see the kids and community members enjoying themselves during this event. I think these celebrations should continue to be held every year.”
Lauren said other sponsors for the day included McDonald’s, Builders Warehouse, Vodacom, and Just Shoes.
