Pastry chef Megin Meikle explained after Covid-19 ravaged the hospitality industry they noticed how so many businesses began to emerge from the ashes. “The food and craft market gave its vendors a space to sell and a platform to network with other like-minded people.”
She added that there was no better time than the first weekend of spring to bring this all to life.

To find vendors for the event, Megin explained they relied heavily on social media and word of mouth. She said the aim was to get news of this market to reach potential vendors organically. Their hope was to attract some first-time vendors to the market scene they were successful in this attempt.

Organisers made sure to create a space that gave vendors a fair chance. “So we were adamant there were no repeat products for sale across the stalls,” said Megin.
Stalls at the event sold homemade ice cream, artisan breads, rusks, hot beef on rye, smoked barbeque, Prosecco and loads more.

The feeling of spring was definitely felt by all on the day. As Megin described, the sky was blue, the sun was out and the people were reconnecting with each other. “I think after a tumultuous winter, the day was just a really good one. We had some amazing live music playing, good food, stunning weather and some much-needed conversation.”
