Healthcare services and professionals have been under tremendous pressure to curb the spread of the COVID-19 within our local borders with numerous external challenges having to be faced. One of these challenges is without a doubt, access to a constant source of electricity. In partnership with the Gift of the Givers Foundation, Honda Motor Southern Africa has made available generators to clinics and hospitals as and when required to assist during power disruptions. This is in an effort to mitigate the challenges faced by healthcare professionals while providing urgent medical care. To ensure the availability and efficient use of the generators, The Gift of the Givers Foundation, one of the largest non-governmental disaster response organisations in Africa, will be coordinating the logistics in the transportation and operation of the generators at clinics and hospitals in need. The generators will provide relief to these locations as they take form in a low-weight and fully mobile unit and can generate emergency electricity with short notice. The generators which can power a range of essential equipment are also capable of providing 5.8 hours of continuous power.
