Wheel Well urges motorists to “drive lovingly”

STRIJDOM PARK – Wheel Well cruises into a promising 2020.

Wheel Well has enjoyed a prosperous 2019 with some exceptional achievements under the non-profit organisation’s belt. The organisation continues to wage a war against child deaths due to road accidents.

Wheel Well has enjoyed many achievements this year such as the growth of their #CarSeatsforKids campaign, which now incorporates mini campaigns such as the Car Seat Clinic, Car Seat 101 Workshop and Car Seat Cleaning services. Wheel Well now offers parents all-round, expert and specialised service around car seats.

Other highlights include:

• Moving to a new premises that offers many new possibilities

• Founder, Peggie Mars being selected as a finalist for the Woman of Stature Award in the Community sector, from a field of truly exceptional woman.

Mars would to thank her staff who are involved in the day-to-day running of Wheel Well, as well as her daughter Theresa Erasmus, Thabile Shuphing and Selby Madau.

“There are too many people to mention, but if I have to narrow it down, it must be my colleagues at Wheel Well. Theresa, Thabile and Selby [who have] gone above and beyond to assist parents and stood steadfast and committed during a difficult year. Their rock solid support and belief in what we do has been an anchor to me.”

The pervasive challenge for Wheel Well has remained securing funds. The organisation has appealed to the community for their continued donation of car seats. Their website (www.wheelwell.org.za) has all the drop off information as well as their banking details.

Next year, Mars expressed that Wheel Well would like to “continue to build on our solid platform and reduce the death toll of our children on the road. Every child that dies in a crash is one death too many.”

Wheel Well has urged driver’s to “drive lovingly” this festive season.
