Don’t miss the exciting Rand Symphony Summer concert this weekend

BLAIRGOWRIE – Audiences can expect another musical experience under the baton of Conductor, Carel Henn, with soloist Tinus Botha on piano.

The Rand Symphony Orchestra will once again wow audiences with ‘transcendently sublime music’ at its Summer concert.

Two performances are scheduled for this coming weekend. On Sunday, 25 March, the orchestra will be at the Roodepoort Theatre at 3.30pm.

An additional Saturday evening performance will be held at the NG Church, Malcolm Road, Blairgowrie, at 7pm. Seats are available from orchestra members, online at Quicket or at the door from 6pm.

For the 25 March performance, tickets are R180 for adults, R150 for pensioners and students, R120 for scholars and R120 per person for groups of 10 or more.

Tickets for the Saturday evening performance are R150 for adults, R140 for pensioners and students and R120 for scholars.

Music lovers are in for a treat with performances of Dvorak’s Carnival Overture, Op 92, Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op 54 and Beethoven’s Symphony No 6 in F Major, Op. 68 (the “Pastoral”).
The Rand Symphony Orchestra has been a vibrant contributor to community classical music in Gauteng for nearly 30 years, according to their website.

It offers musicians the opportunity to play ensemble work and perform in regular public concerts for their own enjoyment and that of the community. The orchestra is a community orchestra, comprised of people who freely give of their time to play because they love music.
