Get your main course serving of hilarity at Don’t Burn Your Sausage

FONTAINEBLEAU – Don't Burn Your Sausage is ready to plate up an evening full of food and laughter and comedian Chris Forrest tells you what you can expect.

How would one best entertain an audience? Possibly through great food and awesome comedy.

That is what one can expect at this year’s Don’t Burn Your Sausage show at Emperor’s Palace from 22 to 24 September. The Randburg Sun spoke to comedian Christ Forrest who will co-host the show with Master Chef Pete Goffe-Wood.

The live show is quoted as being rather ‘whisk-que’ as most of the jokes are of a sexual nature. Forrest said until his first time on stage, 18 years ago, he never thought it was possible.

“I’m still at it though and loving every minute of it,” said Forrest.

The renowned comedian shared that though he had delusions that he would one day be a professional soccer player, that did not work out for him due to ‘a complete lack of talent’.

“When I went full time into comedy I was working for an investment company, so I could have ended up as a financial planner as well,” he said.

Forrest, who is a Fontainebleau resident, said some of the projects that really made him love his job were shows like The Pure Monate Show.

He said that such shows changed the game in local television, “As cheesy as it sounds, I love making people laugh, so every successful gig I am a part of is great for me.”

He jokingly added that his toughest critics were the weird hippies from Kalk Bay.

What most appealed to him about Don’t Burn Your Sausage, was the thought of having fun whilst combining two of his favourite elements in life: food and comedy.

“Also it’s great to do a two-hander with Pete. We always have a good laugh, and I try to pick up as many cooking tips along the way too,” said Forrest.

So what can the audience expect from this tantalizing show? Well, Forrest could not give too much away but he did say the show is all about food and sex.

“We show you three courses which we’ve called foreplay, intercourse, and afterglow. That said, I must emphasize that it’s not smutty, it all tasteful [pun intended],” he said.

The audience should also come hungry as there will be various food trucks and craft beer vendors at the show to tuck into.

Winner of Celebrity Master Chef, Forrest, who is best known for his work behind the mic, said he loves making delicious but simple food with his rustic cooking. “I have a huge sweet tooth. so I make a lot of desserts.”

If you head to the show, expect a main course of hilarity, garnished with interesting cooking, and a huge side order of fun, paired with deliciousness.
