NEWTOWN – Maftown Heights Music Festival, the biggest event in the South African hip-hop calendar.
The 7th annual Maftown Heights is coming soon and the artists who will perform have been confirmed.
It’s the time of year again when Africa’s premium hip-hop festival, Maftown Heights, has just released the first batch of names on its highly anticipated line-up for their seventh annual festival spiced up by KFC, which is set to take place on 25 November at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.
The music show has become an integral part of the local hip-hop community, and with just over 10 000 attendees at last year’s concert, patrons are encouraged to purchase Early Bird tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment as these tickets are limited.

Year after year the concert is taken to new heights; with its state-of-the-art world-class stage production and overall event experience. Numerous stakeholders from media to South Africa’s key influencers have dubbed Maftown Heights a must-attend festival on the local events calendar.
Early this year a documentary was aired on Channel O which covered the story of the exciting concert, from its humble beginnings in 2010 with an audience of 900 people, to now becoming Africa’s second largest hip-hop festival.
The magnitude of what Maftown Heights is today is the foundation of what is increasingly becoming a destination festival for people across the continent and diaspora seeking authentic live African hip-hop performances presented on a world-class platform.
Some of the musicians we can expect to see this year are AKA, Riky Rick, Okmalumkoolkat, Emtee, Nadia Nakai, Aewon Wolf and Stilo Magolide, alongside DJs Speedsta Vigilante and Zan D, to name a few.
With a number of key sponsors and partners this year including KFC, PowerPlay, Channel O, Yfm and South African Breweries, this year’s show is set to be one to remember.
The second batch of performers will be released at the beginning of November, but with the names already lined up, we couldn’t expect anything better.
