Your virtue to live long and prosper should lead you straight to your nearest cinema to experience Captain Kirk face his new nemesis.

Travel to lands beyond your imagination and settle in your wildest thoughts. The Enterprise will take you on a journey to galaxies unknown to calm your insatiable need to travel to uncharted territory. The latest installment of the hit franchise, Star Trek: Beyond is not to be missed.

The Plot: The Enterprise crash-lands on strange land due to an attack on the ship from a menacing dictator in search of a valuable piece of weaponry. It is up to Captain Kirk and his team to escape from the terrible wasteland and to save the rest of the crew members held captive by terrible, lizard-like dictator, Krall.

The Good: You don’t really need to have been an avid follower of the previous Star Trek franchise movies to enjoy this one. It is not only about action and defeating evil. It is also about the importance of friendship, accepting each of our differences and the desire to be true to yourself while following your heart. Also, there is a new character named Jaylah who is a fearless Goddess. She is powerful, self-reliant and gives all women the power surge they so undeniably deserve.

The Bad: If you are not paying attention, you will probably find yourself lost between worlds you have no clue exist. The Enterprise goes from being lost in one galaxy to being stranded in another. You will be confused in a couple of scenes so pay more attention than you would usually. Krall did seem to lack that fear factor. Do not get me wrong, he could literally suck the life right out of you but that was kind of it. He was not dramatically scary, just a man seeking vengeance.

The Verdict: If you love the element of perpetual surprise and the need to just escape into the world unknown, this is definitely the movie for you. It is great for a good family night out and is packed with enough action to leave you still in search of more. Even after two hours of it.
