JOBURG – Comic and Marvel fans packed selected theaters for the earlier than expected release of Captain America: Civil War, which proved to be everything the trailers promised it would be, and more.

The name is deceiving as this Captain America movie involves the whole Avengers team, which creates many action-packed and dramatic scenes.

The Plot: The number of civilian casualties in the Avengers’ missions cause the secretary of state to present the team with a document to sign, which states they will now operate under the supervision of a panel governed by the United Nations. Members of the team who do not sign, will have to go into retirement.

The document, called the Sokovia Accords, leaves much discussion and causes a rift in the team as Iron Man decides that it is time the team was kept in check. Captain America is hesitant and believes the panel may not allow them to go where they are needed and one day have an agenda other than that of the goodwill of all.

Besides the divide caused by the document, the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes, makes an appearance and is caught on camera blowing up a building where delegates are discussing the Sokovia Accords.

Steve Rogers tracks down Bucky and takes his side, believing Bucky was framed for the bombing. This results in the definite formation of two teams, Captain America against Iron Man, with both calling in a few reinforcements such as Ant Man and Spiderman, to help stand for what they believe in.

The Good: The story-line has serious undertones because the Avengers are faced with the consequences of their past actions and current turmoil within the team, but the characters’ individual personalities are not lost. Captain America even gets the chance to say one of his greatest catch phrases, “I could do this all day.”

The Bad: You need to have a good recollection of the previous Iron Man, Captain America and Avengers movies to understand all the references that are made throughout the movie, which can be confusing if you do not remember the previous movies well.

The Verdict: Funny, action packed, and entertaining, Civil War will not disappoint comic fans and Marvel movie lovers alike.
