JOBURG – If you find yourself at home on a Friday night wondering what to do with your free two hours then we have the perfect solution for you. Spectre is a must see for lovers of the franchise brand James Bond.
The licence to kill operative is on a mission to fill your night with an imposing need to be his right hand man as he deals with all that’s wrong in the world. Daniel Craig reprises his role as 007. With his piercing blue eyes and allure, this movie will appeal to the fairer sex for its magnetic protagonist. However, let the writer not sell short those females who have a deep need for speed.
The Plot: James Bond gets an ambiguous message that puts him on the scent of a menacing organisation. All the while, M works against forces that would see MI6 become dismantled.
The Good: Spectre is fully loaded with the correct amount of adrenaline. It will have you in a helicopter about to crash land over Mexico City then, at the helm of a high speed chase through the cobblestone streets of Rome all while riding in a lush Bentley.
Bond women, Monica Belucci (Lucia) and Léa Seydoux (Madelein Swan) were both the correct mixture of damsel in distress and independent vixen.
The Bad: There were not enough gadgets. Okay yes, the car was bulletproof and it could do cool things like fling you out of it and spit fire – but that was pretty much it. James did also have a watch I paid no notice to until closer to the end when it was timed to explode.
The Verdict: If you love high speed chases and have a love for cars, then this is your movie. It’s action filled and has you wishing you were part of a secret agency out to rid the world of the sinister people aiming to set it to ruin. I do think that if you have not been a fan of the franchise then you will not be losing out if wait to see it on Box Office.
