After losing her hearing at a young age after a bicycle accident, she took it in her stride to still pursue her dreams.

She would like to be an actress and a model one day, and describes it as something she is very passionate about.

“My passion inspires me deeply. I would like to see deaf people in soapies, drama and movies because that would teach more people how to communicate with deaf people,” she said.

Nkomo described hows the MDSA contestants spent spent one week at a beautiful hotel in Pretoria. She was very excited to meet some of her the other finalists who she found lovely and helpful.

The beginning of the competition was a challenge because the interpreter on the day was not feeling well but eventually the interpreter came back after a few days.

“What I mostly experienced from the competition is that communication is very important in life. You can communicate by listening with your heart to understand what a person fully says,” Nkomo explained.
