A new era for Randpark Golf

RANDPARK – Randpark Golf club has appointed Fracois Swart as the new general manager.

Francois Swart has stepped in as the new general manager at the Randpark Golf Club.

Swart’s appointment comes in the wake of the death of former CEO of Randpark Golf Club, Doug Bain, who died as a result of brain cancer. Swart, who was promoted from food and beverage manager, had been mentored by Bain to take up the position of general manager.

“It was a difficult time for the club,” said Swart. “The immediate goal was to get stability back. [Bain] caused a turn-around point for the club. He introduced a family friendly aspect.”

Although Bain was prolific at the club, Swart and his staff are confident that they can maintain the high standard. “I want to live up to [Bain’s] legacy but also put my own stamp of approval on [the club].”

Swart has already been through a six-month period of probation in which he was responsible for overseeing a R22 million renovation to the course.

Swart thanked all those involved in the transitional period, “The overall support from the members, the committee and my family has been fantastic and will hopefully continue to be fantastic.”
