Editor's note

Digital is the future

How dependent are you on the internet?

It was all things digital at this year’s Caxton editors conference held last week.

The main focus of the conference was to establish how people are consuming news and other information, so that as a media group we can adapt and give people what they want.

The internet has become a vital part of our daily lives and the majority of us are dependent on the internet and technology for almost everything.

I am not the most tech savvy person in the world, but I would be lost without my phone, computer and tablet. From the minute I open my eyes in the morning my phone is with me. I use the internet all day long for work and personal use. Everything I need is only a click away.

The most interesting point that was made at the conference is that people want convenience and don’t want to spend a lot of time reading and searching for stuff. They want quick and easy ways to get the information they need. Internet users also don’t want to be force fed and quickly move to another site if they lose interest.

Therefore it is important for us to give our readers what they want online and so my questions to you are:

• How often do you use the internet and what do you search for?

• What news do you want online?

• What social media platforms do you use?

• What device do you use to access the internet?
