The song reached the number one spot on Wild Coast FM in East London and has been receiving air play from numerous radio stations including Jacaranda FM and Cliff Central.

“The song is about how people who are seen as ‘outsiders’ do not have to change for anyone. Being an outsider is not a bad thing, you can be anything you want.”

The Abbotts College, Northcliff pupil said she writes about being bullied and being an outsider. “The message always resonates with who I am, they are my real life experiences.” Jade shares candidly how she was bullied at her previous school, to a point where she moved to another school. It is this kind of experience that inspires her music and ultimately her audience.

Her music is currently on SoundCloud, iTunes and Amazon and said she has two songs that will be coming out very soon. When she was in LA, she recorded three songs and a

“I got inspired to do folk music by Matthew Mol but I do pure folk. I also love Jimmy Nevis, he is brilliant, and he always speaks about real issues.”

Jade’s mother, Paola Sardinha, said Jade has always shown a love for music. “When she was a baby, she would dance in her cot every time a song played. She would listen to lyrics and would sing the words perfectly and she would always try and start a band.”

Sardinha said she feels nothing but pride for Jade because of the way she has risen above being bullied.

“She is level-headed and very mature; just focused on her music and she has achieved so much.”

The young artist is currently gearing up for the upcoming New Harvest Sundowner show in September. The charity event will raise funds for local charities.
