FOURWAYS – Actor and musician Jonathan Roxmouth aims to wow local audiences with his latest broadway album and upcoming concerts.

Actor and musician Jonathan Roxmouth held an event to celebrate the launch of his latest album entitled From the footlights, at the Teatro at Montecasino, Fourways, on 24 May.

The album features a collection of songs from major musicals such as Chicago, West Side Story, The Rocky Horror Show and Sweeney Todd among others. According to the album’s producers, never before has an album of this kind been released in South Africa.

Roxmouth also made a surprise announcement that three Broadway concerts will be held this upcoming September featuring Jonathan Roxmouth, four guest artists and an 18-piece band.

The two-hour concert programme includes All That Jazz from Chicago; Bring Him Home from Les Misèrables; Being Alive from Company; I’m Going Home from The Rocky Horror Show; Last Night of the World from Miss Saigon and Music of the Night from The Phantom Of The Opera.

Roxmouth pointed out that the concert seeks to promote home-grown talent from the ranks of South African musical theatre. “This concert affords audiences a golden opportunity to experience the best of Broadway through the talents of local performers. It will undoubtedly be nothing less than world class,” he said.

From The Footlights will be produced by Renier and Lise-Marie Keyser of Add-Life Productions. Actor, choreographer and director Weslee Lauder will direct, with lighting and set design by Denis Hutchinson.

The concerts will be staged at the Teatro at Montecasino on 18 September and 19 September 2015, both commencing at 8pm, and 20 September at 2pm.
