Sowing the seeds of music

EMMARENTIA – 'Sowing the Seeds' music and lifestyle festival promises to showcase a wide array of local and international music talent.

Jacaranda FM will be presenting the highly anticipated Sowing the Seeds music and lifestyle festival at Emmarentia Dam on 21 March.

Scottish singer, songwriter and musician Paolo Nutini as well as American rock band Portugal. The Man will headline the lifestyle festival, alongside some of South Africa’s top acts including Desmond & the Tutus, Shortstraw, Diamond Thug and Bongeziwe Mabandla.

A representative from Seed Experiences and one of the organisers of the festival Kate Ackerman provided some background. “Having been a sister act to the hugely successful Rocking the Daisies music festival, the new format of Sowing the Seeds unpacks all the punch of a weekend festival into an epic, rad, one-day event in the heart of Jozi, at the beautiful Johannesburg Botanical Gardens. Festival attendees can expect an unforgettable day with world-class music, a craft beer garden, boutique wine stalls, artisan food trucks, and the truly festive atmosphere,” she said.

The sponsors and partners of the event are Jacaranda FM, Lucozade, and Flying Fish SA. Tickets will be sold at R495, with gates set to open at 10am. The festival will run up until 6pm.
