1. Zombie Walk

Creepy costumes, ghosts, pirates, horror and all things scary are what is needed for this year’s Halloween.

The eighth annual Zombie Walk is finally here and the undead horde will rise outside the gates of West Park Cemetery on 31 October.

The 2.5km walk will start from the cemetery at 3pm to Melville – all in the name of raising funds for Marang House which provides care and support for rural children who require hospital treatment and are in need of constant supervision and medical care.

2. Horrorwood V Halloween

Make your way to Brightwater Commons on 31 October for some Haloween fun.

Rush the Dracula teeth, stock up on the fake blood and prepare for the most spooktacular event in town this Halloween.

For 15 years The Brightwater Commons has been the hottest Halloween host around and marking the 15th Halloween at Brightwater this year, fans of all things scary are in for a treat (and some tricks).

3. Magnum Joburg at the Zone

New York, Melbourne, Amsterdam, Paris, Istanbul – and now Johannesburg. The ultimate indulgence, Magnum Joburg opens at The Zone in Rosebank on 1 November.

Joburg Zoo is hosting their annual Haloween event on 1 November from 5pm until 9pm. The evening guarantees a feast of activities from the Haunted Forest through a scary stroll of the Vampire Cave. Join the team for yet another exciting evening…don’t be afraid.

6. Marang House’s 16 years birthday

Marang House is turning sweet 16 on 1 November. Join them as they celebrate at the Northcliff-based children’s home. They will be pulling out all the stops for their birthday celebration, in hopes of raising funds. Come prepared and share your love with the children.

7. Classic Jazz Masters Live At The Orbit

South Africa’s premier traditional jazz band and guests present a live musical documentary of New Orleans jazz music on 2 November at the Orbit – Home of Jazz.

The show will feature turning points that laid the foundations of 20th century music. You will be taken on a journey through the ragtime bars of 1915 to the dance halls of 1930, featuring all the pivotal characters and music that defined the era along the way.

8. Sunday Lunch Jazz

Make a jazz date on 2 November and enjoy a magnificently prepared three-course lunch orchestrated by chef Johannes de Bruijn at the luxurious Winehouse Terrace. It is the perfect way to enjoy and really appreciate a laid-back Sunday afternoon after a long week in the company of like-minded jazz lovers.

9. Day of the Dead

The Day of the Dead is upon everyone, the hour of the departed and the time for the deceased has arrived. Well, not really it’s actually just time for another smashing Kitchener’s party on 1 November.
