Line dancing is not all about cowboy boots and ‘do see do’.
Chérie Bailey (61) of Mavericks SA has returned home from the World Masters Competition in Wintergardens, Blackpool, England. She came first in the Gold Novis division for all three categories the cha-cha, waltz and east coast swing.
“I enjoyed dancing ballet as a young girl … from the second I attended my first class I was hooked.”
The Mavericks SA is a dance group based at Blairgowrie Recreational Centre where all forms of line dancing are practiced.
In conjunction with Bailey placing first, the Mavericks SA team came third in the group division.
