BLAIRGOWRIE – New digital channel showcases the best of South African extreme sports.

South Africa’s top extreme sports athletes have now been given a public platform solely dedicated to showcase their amazing talents.

Action Gear, a leading online sports technology retailer, announced the launch of its very own digital television channel, ActionGear.TV.

“To keep up with international digital trends such as Netflix, we decided to launch our own digital television channel,” commented the channel’s managing director, Warrick Kernes. “Our aim is to expose exceptional South Africans and their adventures as well as discuss the latest sporting technologies which is a passion of ours at Action Gear.”

With the help of Brand TV Media Network, ActionGear.TV aims to be the meeting place for the outdoor enthusiast, adventurer and gadget fanatic. Each episode is around eight minutes long and viewers can choose what sections of the episode they would prefer watching – like the athlete interview or product review. New episodes will be aired every week.

Some of the extraodinary people featured on ActionGear.TV include, Saray Khumalo, who attempted to climb Mt Everest when an avalanche killed 16 sherpas; Nick de Wit, Red Bull motocross freestyle rider; Louie Greeff, who will be attempting to swim the entire length of the Zambezi River plus many more local adventure heroes.

Action Gear’s adventure began in 2010 when it started out as Action Cameras, the first SA online specialist in helmet cameras like GoPro and Drift. In 2013, they rebranded to Action Gear and expanded their product range beyond just sports cameras to cover all the latest outdoor sporting technology products. The company has offices in Blairgowrie, Randburg.
