Not a laughing matter, or is it?

RUIMSIG - Comedian Barry Hilton comically portrays how South Africa's past has influenced our perception about ourselves and how men think they are cleverer than women.

RUIMSIG – A full house of comedy fanatics were left in stitches from laughter when comedian Barry Hilton took the stage at Silverstar Casino in Ruimsig on 4 July.

“I generally enjoyed the jokes but his elastic-like facial expressions made him more funny,” laughed Kirsten Kotzé, who was one of the audience members.

Kotzé said she was a huge fan of the comedian.

“I came all the way from Bela-Bela (Limpopo) to see this show and I’m glad the comedian lived up to my expectations.”

The comedian thrilled the audience with his content.

One audience member Vusi Langa said he loved the fact that he highlighted some of the important social issues that South African are faced with.

“We do some of these things subconsciously because of different reasons and Barry just made me aware of that. At some point I was just laughing at myself, putting into thought what Barry said about what we humans do.”

Complex and events manager for the casino Matthew Cook said it was amazing how the comedian has stood the test of time.

“Barry always manages to stay relevant with the topics that he talks about and he does it with so much flair.”

Cook said the show was sold-out four weeks prior.

“This just proves how much people love him – despite having been in the industry for so long.”
