Derby day at Rand Park High

RANDPARK RIDGE - Derby day brings excellent results for Rand Park High School.

Rand Park High School hosted a Derby Day on 24 May during which they competed against Northcliff High School, and both schools did their utmost to outshine their opponents.

The events included a heated rugby match and nail biting netball and hockey games.

Rand Park succeeded in beating Northcliff in boys hockey winning 1–0, the rugby team won 23–13 and netball won with 30–25.

According to Rand Park High School public relations manager Heather Robinson, it was a very exciting sports event. “Rand Park High is known for its spirit and enthusiasm and on Saturday it was no less so. Northcliff High School was a worthy opponent, with both schools giving of their best in each match. We are extremely proud of all our teams. Their hard work and commitment to their sport paid off and their determination to have a great day was rewarded.”

Coupled with the Derby Day was the Debs Fête, a key fundraiser for the year. “The Debs worked exceptionally hard to prepare and offered plenty of food, drinks, books, clothing, arts and crafts for sale to Derby Day supporters,” concluded Robinson.
