PLOT: Based on the biblical story of Noah’s Ark, Noah, (Russel Crowe) is warned of a flood that God will send in the coming years. In order to save Earth, he must build an ark and must save the ‘innocent ones,’the animals. He believes that in no way should humans continue to live as humans are the guilty creatures that are destroying Earth. Noah battles Cain’s descendants, with the help of the Watchers, a group of fallen angels whom have taken the formation of rocks. He must save the animals but also must deal with issues his family faces; including the failing relationship he shares with his second born son, Ham (Logan Lerman). He also disapproves of a girl who he took in ten years back, Ila (Emma Watson) being pregnant when he believes mankind should end.

GOOD: The film told an inspirational tale of forgiveness. Also, the amazing performance by Russel Crowe bettered my rating. The story keeps you in suspense and Anthony Hopkins delivers some humour in certain scenes too. The film gave you a new, fresh insight to the bible story, extending your biblical knowledge.

BAD: The beginning was very slow and took a while to get to the main points of the story. Certain scenes felt out of place, almost like they weren’t necessary and never really partook in the plot.

VERDICT: Visually and artistically it was brilliant; however I felt it was slightly melodramatic. I think more emphasis on the story as an adventure should have come through, as opposed to concentrating on family conflict.
