Some of SA’s finest six string slingers – live and loud!
The line-up at Tanz Live on Friday 7 March includes legendary blues guitarist Albert Frost, ‘cyber’ guitarist Jonathan Crossley, and big-band man Alistair Coakley. Tom Olsen, Ramon Sampson and Alvin Hendricks will be joining them on stage.
Coakley used to play for afro-rock band Hotline, while Olsen plays with Jesse Clegg regularly. Sampson won the Guitar Centre USA Drum-off Championships in 2009. Hendricks is an acclaimed musician in his own right and often tours with Cape Town jazz-fusion legend Jonathan Butler.
Also appearing are bass virtuoso Carlo Mombelli and drummer Justin Badenhorst from First Project. An all-star line-up for even the most discerning listener, and a great evening should be guaranteed. Entrance for this event is R100 per ticket and is this show is not to be missed.
And if you’re looking for something fun to do on a Saturday night, come to talented muso Brent Harris’ Saturday sets at Tanz Live where he will be playing his own brand of contemporary jazz. Harris was the founding member of the much-loved Just Jinger. Entrance for his Saturday night shows is free and definitely worth a listen.
