GENRE: Action thriller

PLOT: After being seriously injured at war Jack Ryan has to learn how to walk again. After months of recovery he is ready to leave the rehabilitation facility when he is offered a job as a covert CIA analyst. Years after being recruited Ryan uncovers a Russian plot to crash the US economy with a terrorist attack. It is his job to stop the attack and save the US from a terrible fate.

THE GOOD: It is not a typical action movie. Although there are some exciting action scenes, there is also an interesting story line with some romance. It was also nice to see Kevin Costner in a movie and fresh faces on the set.

THE BAD: I don’t have many negative comments about the movie, however I was not blown away by Keira Knightley’s performance.

VERDICT: Overall I enjoyed the movie. I must admit I was not on the edge of my seat, but there were some scenes that were tense. I thought it was worth the ticket price and something I would recommend if you enjoy American politics.

Thanks to Ster-Kinekor Northgate for making the review possible.
