Joburg Festival of Beer – 6-8 September

Mega brewers, microbrewers, craft brewers and home brewers. Beer judging, beer tasting and beer workshops. Did someone say beer?

Great Expectations – Opens Friday 6 September

With an untouchable cast of actors, Great Expectations, adapted from Charles Dickens’ 1861 novel of the same name, chronicles the life of Pip (Jeremy Irvine), a poor orphan who, through a series of bizarre and sometimes frightening events, moves up the ranks of a socially stratified Victorian England. Starring Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) as Pip, Helena Bonham Carter (The King’s Speech, Alice in Wonderland) as Miss Havisham and Ralph Fiennes (Schindler’s List, Skyfall) as Magwitch.

Sensations Innerspace – Saturday 7 September

The world’s leading dance event has arrived in South Africa. Dubbed Innerspace, this all-night party promises to be nothing like you have every experienced, or will ever experience again. Line-up includes Daniel and Juan Sanchez, Nic Fanciulli and Mr White, among others. Be warned: Dress code is strictly white, and if you turn up in anything besides white you will be turned away.
