Mukala explained that this is going to be one of his biggest fights and one that can open many doors for him, putting him on the World map.

“Most of the time African boxers go to America, and now he is coming to us, that is special as boxing is big in America, and they have World champions.”

34-year-old Ellis is currently on a three fight losing streak, but holds impressive wins over the likes of Immanuwel Aleem, Christopher Brooker, and an injury-laced success over Matt Korobov.

Mukala acknowledges his experience, but believes he is not on his level. “He is a good fighter and fought some of the World champions, but he hasn’t faced me. We did check some of the things he is doing but we saw that we do a lot better. He is good at basics but some things we are better.”

The Panther is currently on 18–2, with 15 knockout (KO) wins, while a seasoned veteran in the peak of his career, Ellis is on 18–4–2, with 12 KOs, and recently joined the legendary Freddie Roach at the Wildcard Gym.

According to the promoters, this bout is set to be a spectacular clash of styles, thunder versus lightning, capturing the essence of what Genesis is all about.

Makala added that the preparations are going well, and he is ready for the fight.

“I am ready to win. I’ve been training for a long time. I am looking forward to it, and this will be good on my record, beating a guy who has challenged World champions.”
