Old Parks invites youngsters to sign up for the new cricket season

Old Parks is very social and welcoming – a perfect place to play cricket or spend time while waiting for your child to finish practice.

Serious and social cricketers alike can look forward to the start of the new season.

The junior cricket section at Old Parks Sports Club is thriving and one of the best places one could pick up a bat.

Registration day for the season will be held between 08:30 and 12:00 on September 2, with the first official practice being held two weeks later.

Ryan Stein practises in the nets during a recent training session.

Chair of junior cricket at the club, Doug Neilson said the club welcomed boys and girls from U6 through to U13 level. β€œThe club is very social and welcoming, it is like a home away from home,” he said.

β€œFacilities are excellent and our teams are always competitive in their respective leagues. Parents can enjoy our social events, or spend time at Tipu CafΓ© or play padel tennis if they like between watching their children play.”
