Randburg Harriers to run 100km in 3 days over Easter

An Easter egg hunt and bring and braai will make this year's Easter 100 even more fun.

It may sound like a tall order to run 100km in three days, but it is entirely possible when running with a group of encouraging people.

And that is exactly what Randburg Harriers Running Club is.

The band of runners based at Randburg Sports Complex in Praegville will host their annual Easter 100 over the long weekend, April 7–9.

“We’ll run 48km on Good Friday, 32km on Saturday, and 20km on Easter Sunday,” explained the club’s public relations officer, Mbali Mzimela.

Runners will have the following Monday, a public holiday, to rest.

Mzimela said this will be the 39th edition of what has come to be known as the ‘poor man’s Two Oceans’, as it provides a cheaper alternative for those wishing to run ultra-marathon distance without having to travel to the Western Cape for the major event, though this will be a week before that one.

“Considered one of the best training runs for Comrades, all three days have hilly, undulating routes. Points every 4km give runners relief with ice-cold liquid refreshments and tasty snacks.”

The club will also host an Easter egg hunt and bring and braai on the Sunday.

Mzimela invited the community to join in.
