Bordeaux wrestling siblings win at nationals yet again

Dominick and Skyla Aoun win five gold medals and one silver medal between them to both hold onto their national champion titles.

Bordeaux’s famous wrestling siblings have done it again at the national champions, proving they are the best in the country.

Dominick and Skyla Aoun competed in their fourth and second National Wrestling Championships in Stellembosch, respectively.

They tested their mettle against the country’s best over three days, and continued their perfect record at the tournament.

Skyla won two gold medals to become the SA champion yet again, while Dominick smashed his way to three gold medals and one silver to make it four out of four competitions and show he is the undisputed best wrestler at his age.

This despite a busy line-up that saw him fight seven matches on the first day.

He lost one of the matches by two points but came back the second day and beat the same opponent in freestyle 10 – 0 in points.

On the last day of the competition, Dominick was pushed up a division but this did not stand in his way.

“The Aoun siblings are here to stay,” said their father and assistant coach, Fadi.

“Every year they just keep pushing and coming back. I see huge things in their future. The sky is the limit and hopefully soon we reach to the top [in the world].”
