Linden boxers win two and ask for a review on one defeat

Alan Toweel has asked for a review on Tshifhiwa Munyai's loss to Lusanda Komanisi.

Alan Toweel is happy with two recent title fight wins, and applied for a review on the result of another.

The coach of Alan Toweel Boxing Gym in Linden saw his protégé Jeff ”911′ Magagane become the SA featherweight champion, winning on points against unbeaten Asanda Gingqi.

Bangile Nyangani and Alan Toweel celebrate him successfully defending his title.

“Jeff fought a disciplined fight from round one to 12 and his win was unanimous,” Toweel said.

SA mini flyweight champion Bangile Nyangani successfully defended his title for the second time against Gaveni Nkwenteni.

“He [Nyangani] put on an outstanding display of boxing skills much to the delight of the boxing fans at the Sandton Galleria.”

Jeff ‘911’ Magagane and coach Alan Toweel celebrate him becoming the new SA featherweight champion.

But it was not to be three out of three for the Linden fighters, as Tshifhiwa ‘Atomic Spider’ Munyai lost his SA lightweight title on a highly controversial points decision at Emperors Palace.

Gaveni Nkwenteni loses to Bangile Nyangani.

“The general consensus was that Tshifhiwa did not lose his SA title. His opponent Lusanda Komanisi when interviewed after the fight, mentioned that he thought a draw was a fair decision which would have resulted in Tshifhiwa retaining his title. I have submitted an application for a fight review with Boxing South Africa, the regulatory body, whereby should we be successful then an immediate rematch will be imposed.”
