Medals galore for Linden Bowling Club
Local bowling club does proud at tournament for the physically disabled and JBA Fours tournaments.
Linden Bowling Club has had a fantastic couple of weeks on the green.
The Linden women’s fours team won the Johannesburg Bowls Association (JBA) Women’s Fours. The tournament had a very tight final played against a team from Belgravia Bowling Club, and after 21 ends, the score was peeled at 20–20.
An extra end had to be played, and Mmapula Mmako, Esmé Haley, Heather Pembroke and Colomba Georgiev from Linden proved too good.
This while one of the Linden men’s teams won bronze in the JBA Men’s Fours tournament.
This team included Garth Davies, Daniel Erasmus, Steve Middleton and Dirk Reuter.
Furthermore, Mandy Lattimore and her pairs partner, Desiree Levin, won gold at the Nationals for the Physically Disabled. Mandy plays for Linden and Desiree for Killarney Country Club.
Recently, Linden hosted the first morning of their annual Linden Winter Tournament. The quality of bowls was only matched by the sportsmanship demonstrated and fun had by the bowlers.
