New armour for this football club

NORTH RIDING – Bantwana College focuses on the development of women's soccer in the community.

It might be the coach or their brand-new kit for the season, but Bantwana College Football Club has been on fire.

They have won their latest match in the Rand Central Local Football Association’s girls’ winter league. They beat Old Parks Football Club 3–1 and have kept themselves in the running to win the league.

The club caters for girls’ development football in the Randburg and surrounding areas and has made their main sponsors MayFord Seeds Sakata, RE/MAX Master and Sheldon’s Print very proud. These sponsors, along with many others, have been with the team from the start and were able to assist with outfitting the girls. Last month the club kicked off their season with a kit handover which launched them to success.

Coach Theo Buttress outlined his future goals which include winning the winter league, playing in the Regional League in the coming years and acquiring Sasol League status soon, to eventually participate in the country’s premier league.

Coach Theo Buttress speaks on the team’s future goals of winning the winter league.

“One of the long-term goals is to eventually qualify to play in the soon-to-be-formed Professional Woman’s League. This league is tentatively scheduled to kick-off in 2019,” said Buttress.

Any interested girls or ladies who wish to learn how to play, play for a team or club, or just want to get fit or play for fun, can contact Coach Theo Buttress on 072 300 1927 or email info@bantwanacollege.
