Joburg’s top boxer Patrick Mukala will once again defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan African Super Middleweight title on 1 June in Swaziland.
His fight against Tanzania’s Ibrahim Tamba will be live on Fox Sports.
Mukala’s eight knockouts tally was only dampened by his loss against Ryno Liebenberg.
The 24-year-old boxer, trained by Randburg Boxing Club’s Ashley Fourie, said he was ready to get back into the ring after his tough Super 4 super middleweight fight against Liebenberg in October last year.
But Fourie said his charge had grown tremendously since that fight.
“He has matured and I am so proud of him,” he said. “We have been working together, perfecting the moves. The loss against Ryno was a good experience.”
The Congolese boxer is working towards becoming a world champion and going forward he is taking no prisoners.
“No more games, I am going for knockouts,” he said.
