Head of sports, Mellissa Le Roux at the Curro Aurora hockey AstroTurf.

Head of sports, Mellissa Le Roux said, “This year will be a bit of a change; we will select two teams per age group, and we have incorporated full field soccer, too.”

The regional tournament sees Curro learners compete in netball, rugby, soccer and hockey over a two-day period.

Le Roux continued, “It is quite a well-attended tournament when it comes to parents and the kids. This is where the best players and schools are chosen so it is always well supported.”

Executive head, JC Engelbrecht added, “The beauty of belonging to a group like Curro is that we can easily gather resources together to bring schools together from across the region.

This event will help us find the best of the best, and it will all culminate in a national event that we can’t wait to attend.”

The national tournament will see Gauteng Curro primary schools travel to Curro Hillcrest in KwaZulu-Natal, and high schools travelling to Curro Serengeti in Kempton Park.
