King of the Whip motocross event comes back to North Riding

NORTH RIDING – The King of the Whip will prove a cracking event for motocross fans.

Nothing gets bikers revved up like the annual King of the Whip motocross extravaganza.

Biker’s Warehouse in North Riding will host the event again this year, and biking enthusiasts and newbies alike are invited to this free event on 24 February.

Organised by LW Mag and Monster Energy, the event will see some of the country’s best motocross and freestyle motocross riders compete to be crowned king of the whip.

From the first event at 4pm until prize giving at 8.30pm, spectators can expect to see the craziest tricks and turns in mid-air (called whipping).

Riders will be split into groups and qualify through stages called ‘jam sessions’.

Judges will look specifically at style, amplitude and variation, and riders who score enough points will advance to the finals.

While the top three riders will receive prizes, the king of the whip will win a whopping R20 000.

Event organiser, Ryan van der Spuy said he was very excited for the upcoming King of the Whip.

“After last year’s success we cannot wait for the 2018 event to unfold, bigger and better,” he said.

“We cannot thank our event partners enough for making this event possible and affording our top riders the opportunity to showcase their ‘moto’ skills at a fun and exciting event.”

He invited families and friends alike to attend the adrenaline-fueled event.

Food and drinks will also be on sale.
