Hoërskool Randburg’s Annette Steenekamp said, “It is truly an amazing turnout today, with schools attending from far and wide… We are actually the smallest school here today with 750 learners in attendance.” Schoolchildren cheered for their schools as they competed in a wide variety of events including sprinting, long distance running, high jump, discus, and javelin. “We love hosting an event like this, it shows great school spirit and it is a great way to expose our athletes to other strong sporting schools.”

Heindrie Jordaan and Henri Venter cook some boerewors outside the Roodepoort Athletics Stadium to keep their athletes strong.

Prestige College’s athletes dominated the day with Hoërskool Randburg following close behind in most events. ALSO READ: Rand Park water babies make a splash
