Successful Laurie Duncker Squash Tournament

BLAIRGOWRIE – Top squash tournament still a success after 34 years

The Randburg Squash Club held a successful Laurie Duncker Squash Tournament.

Teams from Northern KwaZulu-Natal, Vaal Triangle, Zululand and an invitational team, participated.

Sixty-four participants competed in two divisions over two days. The teams were made up of 16 players, split into four teams of four players each.

This year’s entries saw an increase in overall playing strength and all of the matches were of a high standard.

Northern KwaZulu-Natal won the A division and Zululand claimed honours in the B division. With Zululand also finishing second in the A division, this gave them the overall tournament victory.

Tournament organiser Richard King thanked co-organiser Harry Goslet and all helpers and regional organisers for their support.

The tournament was started in 1983 as part of an inter-centre event for Iscor and is now held in all regions of the country.
