A bounty of medals for Alchemy Dojang at the South African Korean Martial Arts Championships

CRESTA – Local dojang performs well at the South African Korean Martial Arts Championships.

Alchemy Dojang proved to be the fittest and strongest at the recent South African Korean Martial Arts Championships in Potchefstroom.

The dojang from Cresta competed against leading martial artists from across the country and still took home a whopping 24 medals across all forms and in different age groups.

There were two notable performances from junior Protea, Jenna Little, and veteran Protea, Geoff Leathem, who took home five gold medals apiece in their age groups.

“These achievements are remarkable under any circumstances, particularly so at this prestigious national event across all the Korean styles,” said Master Gregory Hart, their tang soo do (fighting technique) coach.

The team competed over two days in forms, wooden weapons forms, bladed weapons forms, combat weapons sparring, point sparring and continuous sparring.
