Rand Park High School welcomed young sports players of King Edward VI Five Ways School from England for a full day of sporting fun.
King Edward players travelled all the way from Birmingham to immerse themselves in all things South African while playing hockey, rugby and netball.
The netball game saw both of the high schools’ U15 teams taking the action to the court. Rand Park was the clear dominating force with a 28–6 win.
The talented King Edward’s open rugby team took Rand Park’s opens to task with the away team winning 56–0. The hockey game played at Randburg astro saw the playing field levelled with a 1–1 draw.
Perhaps the most exciting thing about this tour was that both schools got to learn about a different way of life.
King Edward netball coach Claire Ryan said, “We and the players are really enjoying the experience. The learners get to stay over at a South African home tonight and experience home life which for us is the most worthwhile part of our tour.”
