The 2017 NBA Africa Games is less than two weeks away and the excitement just keeps growing.

For basketball lovers and those who need a bit of convincing, here is the most watched slam dunk, game-winner and moment of the 2016/2017 NBA season. Expect to see such and more at the game on 5 August at the Ticketpro Dome, Northgate.

Coming in at number one is the most watched and notable video in the last season of the NBA, 20-year-old Devin Booker’s 70-point game against the Boston Celtics. His team, Phoenix Suns may have lost the game but he became the fifth player in the history of the NBA to score 70 or more. The video has been watched more than 5 million times on YouTube.

Lebron James had the most popular dunk of the season as his play against the Golden State Warriors was the most watched of the season. The video has since been watched about 1.7 million times. What would basketball be without slam dunks?

King James reigns supreme:

The best game winner of the season was between Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. Warriors were up by three points with 45 seconds left to play. The Cavaliers were playing in front of their home crowd on Christmas and then Kyrie Irving reminded the opposition and the world why he was an NBA champion. The video went on to be watched 1.3 million times.

Video lists are according to Google Trends, Google examined hundreds of thousands of NBA-related videos on YouTube and identified the game and the highlighted player was the methodology involved in creating the list.
