Local team competes at the Arnold Classic Challenge for the second time

RANDBURG – Local softball players improve their record in the Arnold Classic Challenge.

Local softball players once again took on the Arnold Classic Challenge after they won their league matches.

The team participated in the Benoni league matches, qualifying for the Arnold Classic with gold medals. They put up a good fight but were knocked out in the second round of the Arnold Classic Challenge.

This is not the first time the team has competed in the classic. Last year the team was knocked out in the first round. Team member and captain, Jade Gillman, commented that they at least did one better this year and hope to do better still, and go all the way in the tournament next year.

The team, which this year was fondly named ‘Screw Balls’, consists of young players ranging from 15 to 23 years old and they have played a few tournaments together, only hoping to rise from strength to strength as a team.

Other than the tournament, the other attraction of the event was to meet Arnold Schwarzenegger himself. Unfortunately, the team missed him by a few hours as they played a late game. The team was a bit disappointed but still had the memory of Schwarzenegger opening up the softball tournament last year.
